Apply New Template to Existing page

I am creating a new page type for a certain section of my website. It currently has it's own theme and page type attributed to it.

Rather than rebuilding the entire section, is there a way to just change the page type to the new one i am creating?

I am using Version: 5.4.0.5.

go to the page and select design, you can change page type from there.
