I set up a test site (almost empty) see if I could use Concrete5. It's beyond my abilities. The problem is that now my test site is the only one that comes up even though my new site has a different extension (test = .org, new site = .net). Is there a way for me to prevent this happening?

Sounds to me like both your ORG and NET domains are pointing to the same public_html directory. Once there the .htaccess file is going to control which index get's priority.

You probably need to configure a forwarder in your hosting account to point the domains to separate directories and start your C5 install all over again.
