Autonav in Sidebar (V5.7)

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I wish to implement a sidebar navigation for sub-pages under a specific page. I am able to edit the autonav block and configure it to return the results I desire. However, it seems that the only option for display is to use the same format as the site's main menu bar. I have opened the Design & Custom Template but didn't see any way of changing the horizontal layout to a vertical list.

Should there have also been a list of templates I could use with autonav or do I need to create my own? It seems like there should be a couple of basic one though?

Hi Rick,

are you using Elemental theme? Have you tried choosing "None selected" under custom template? The default view, if no template is selected, should be a vertical list.

Hi Jordi,

"Have you tried choosing "None selected" under custom template? "

I haven't been able to see where to select templates for the block. One of the videos showed how to do it on an earlier version but that selection seems to not exist in 5.7.

Probably it's obvious and in plain sight but I don't know where or how to access it. Please give me a clue.

When I click on "Design & Custom Template" I get the Design toolbar but not the custom template dialog (see attached screenine).

Additional info, I created another C5 install and looked at the Elemental theme. If I drop an autonav in the sidebar I get the list format. On the site I am developing the Fundamental theme is being used and with that them dropping autonav in a sidebar get me the main menu format.

I will ask the authors of that theme for their help but perhaps someone here can provide some enlightenment. I have a feeling that the theme does not support the sidebar format. If this is the case what is required? Which files need to be modified/duplicated/etc and where are they located. I tried watching the Autonav videos but they are somewhat outdated and difficult to follow the details.

Thanks
