I know this might be a loaded question. My background is Java, so I've been learning c5 as to try something else. I need some help with some architectural decisions.

1.) I have several pages that will display dynamic content (basketball stats, games, players, etc), would it be better architecturally to build custom blocks, or create custom single pages for all of this content?

Like I said my background is Java and would have this done already if working within that framework. However, I don't have that luxury, with this site.
