Best E-Commerce Gateway

Does anyone have any suggestions or insight into which of the available e-commerce payment gateways is best. I'm needing to make a recommendation to a client and there are very few reviews of any of the payment gateway add-ons. Any thoughts, tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

PayPal is the most widely, and commonly trusted payment gateway out there. Alternatively, I would recommend Authorize.net (which I believe the core ecommmerce add-on supports).

Also, I know that Skrill (formerly known as Moneybookers) is another good gateway.

In any case, I would personally go with PayPal as my default payment gateway, since it is most widely used.

It might be worthwhile looking into Authipay. It's pretty new, competitive and it also combines merchant accounts too. Have a look, I'd recommend it.http://www.authipay.com/
