Best method to include html files
Permalink 1 user found helpful
I'm helping a person post their newsletter on a website and they are not too technically minded.
They are using a publishing program that can export their newsletter as an html file. I have created a C5 website that accesses the PDF files and they can easily add a link to the PDF newsletter on the site. However, they would like an html version also. Is there an easy way for them to incorporate the html file they produce into the website structure via an include or do I need to resort to an iframe structure? The main reason for the include would be to have it picked up by concrete5 search (would C5 search pick up that?) and also SEO... I thought about having them view source and copy the html in to a real page, but then they would have to delete the html headers etc and it could be too much for them.
Thanks for any suggestions you can give.

Thanks for the tip! That's pretty much what I'm looking for, except I'm not sure that that would help with search engine optimization (would search engines pick up the content?) and I question whether Concrete5 search would pick up the content either.
I may end up simply putting the existing pdf's into an iframe and calling it good enough... google will index them, and I can use a google search instead of Concrete5 search, which I haven't really gotten to work anyway.

Your right, the output of the PDF seems to be via Flash (not the most SEO friendly) sorry I missed that.
Remo's IFrame should do the trick for you, hope it works out well.

Just as an after thought, how about this?

It should sort your SEO question out but I know you said headers may be a problem but is it as much work as an iFrame?

So php inclusion is possible with an add-on. That's good to know. I think this is what I was looking for... I'm guessing it would be just as easy as iframe code. The question now will be whether the better functionality is worth the $15 :)
Thanks for the help.
