Best Practice for Page-Specific JS?

What's the best way to include JavaScript for a spcific page of a theme, assuming you don't want to use an embedded script?
there's a few ways you could do it. if it's just for one specific page, and not for a page type or a single page, then you could use the "header extra content" page attribute (click the "properties" button, then click "custom fields", and select it from the list).
