Best Way to create a responsive logo and sitename?

I'm using a responsive theme, and would like to do the following:
1) Have the logo and sitename next to each other in the left content area,
2) Have both the logo and sitename scale down as the width of the browser decreases
What's the best way to do this?
I'm currently using the Elastic Text add-on for the sitename.
