Block from Page defaults not updating on whole site

I removed a block from the Page defaults and it took effect on all the pages based on that page type. That's good. However, when I added the block back into the Page defaults, that update did not go on all pages. I tried to do Setup on Child Pages, but to no avail. The block is not showing up. I've cleared the cache, as well. I would really like to figure this out so I don't have to re-add the block by hand on all of my pages.

I have found glitchy issues related to blocks on default pages. The best way I have found to handle them is on the default page,before you delete the block, go to "set up on child pages" and un-check everything. Then publish the page. This should effectively clear those blocks from the child pages. You can go the the related pages to make sure the block no longer exists. Then you can go back and add a block onto a default page and set it up on the child pages as you normally would.

When you delete a block from a default page without clearing the children first, there is code that lingers from that old associated block.

Give that a try.
