Block position, access denied
Permalink
I'm loosing some patience over block functionality...
It seems that often if I add a block to a global scrapbook and include the original in the block, I often cannot edit it after that due to access denied error. I have to delete it and add the scrapbook version. Actually, the most recent occurrence was the block content became blank in the editor, even though it displayed correctly.
Also, at times the block moves out of position just after adding it and repositioning it without any apparent reason. After saving the page it seems to stick. The particular occurrence of this seems to be after placing a scrapbook global block on a page, moving it, and then changing the design to a preset. It jumps back to the bottom of the page.
If you think these are bugs let me know.
I'm using v5.4.1.1

I had Concrete5's cache enabled. Perhaps this has something to do with it. I'll try to post if I notice problems with the cache disabled during development.
Sorry your'e having this trouble. These are difficult to reproduce, but long-standing bugs. It seems like we squash most of them but a few slip by. If you get to a point where you can consistently reproduce one I would love to dedicate my full attention to squashing it. These are annoying and they make the scrapbook less attractive to use.
There is a whole thread of steps here for you to do in order to reproduce this bug, it's everywhere! These were posted almost a year ago, time to get on it don't you think? It's a huge bug and makes the system unusable.

Here they are again:

Step 1) Scrapbook a content block as "alias orignal"
Step 2) Try to edit block after aliasing
Step 3) "Access denied"
You can normally edit the block once then Access Denied. Make sure the content block is setup on a Page Type as well.
I've also got a bug now where I can't even get the block to update on the frontend of the website, it's updated in the backend, it's global but it won't update. So there goes my work around as well.

Yes, netnerd's description fits my problem.
