Blog addons vs basicblog vs Wordpress Please advise

Would like some opinions and advice on blog options. I've read through the forums, and the marketplace, but am not sure on which direction I should go. Right now my C5 blog was set up using the instructions at

http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/editors/manually-set...

My issues are basically that some of the blog contributors are used to the editing interfaces that sites like blogger offer, especially in regards to being able to insert videos. They also are having issues with the add to main, vs add to blog post more, as this isn't something they had to deal with in other blogging programs.

I'm a bit weary of using wordpress seperately as I like the idea of having the option of adding a product block to a blog post, and am not sure how easy it would be to link to ecommerce products via wordpress.

With the blog addons, I'm having a hardtime figuring out how they are that different from the free blog that I am currently using with C5. Do they have a more user friendly way of creating and editing blogs? For instance insert buttons for video, that dont require much work for the user?

The blog will only be one part of the C5 site, but it is an important part. Right now contributors are still using blogspot or whatever blogs they are used to, saving as a draft then having me copy it to the C5 blog. This is extremely tedious and often doesnt translate well without major tweaking of the blog entry.

I've used the ProBlog add-on a few times now and for simple, straight forward blogs it does the trick nicely, however, when the project has called for a more robust blog with greater taxonomy demands I simply use WordPress and integrate in into the main c5 site.

I haven't used any other c5 blog add-ons so I cannot speak intelligently on their pros/cons.

A running theme with posts like yours is that forcing a non-blog based CMS (like concrete5) to act as a blog CMS (WordPress) will bring you more headaches than simply using two CMSs. I don't buy into avoiding two CMS for one site like the plague. If the client has the ability to learn concrete's functionality, then adding on making basic posts with WordPress won't be that big of a deal.

I am using the add on wordpress for concrete. You set up a wordpress site for the blog, which will give you all of the great plugins for wordpress but the functionality of concrete5. You will NOT have to do any design work on the wordpress side. You can update your blog posts from your "blog" page on concrete5 (there is a "new post" button on only the pages you have designated as your blog page) this will bring you to wordpress where you can add the new post and it will automatically be seen in your concrete5 site. The blog posts are added whenever you rebuild your sitemap.

ProBlog has an embed video option, and a nice dashboard interface, as well as a nice front end pop up interface for adding posts as well. not to mention a better categories and sections management for multiple blogs with tons of custom block views for the special blog list block.

perhaps I need to do a better job at highlighting these.
