Blog navigation separate from main navigation?

I am now using the blog function on our website. Is there some way I can have a drop down or side bar navigation section for the blog that does not show up on the top of all the other pages or on the side bar of our main page? I don't want 372 posts showing on our main page, but it would be nice for people to be able to look through the blog post titles and not have to scroll through the 372 posts looking for something of interest.

Thanks.

If you use blog_post page type for your blog pages, just put the required blog navigation block into the blog_post.php* from your template. If you don't use blog_post page type for your blog pages, do so ;-)

* I also prefer to add an area there instead of a block and put the block into this area on the defaults page for blog_post page type and distribute the block to all child pages.

I think blog_entry.php(labeled as BLog Entry) is the default installed blog post page_type.

pb_post.php is the ProBlog page type. labeled as ProBlog Post.

Your right! My mistake, sorry. It's blog_entry!

Thanks for the info. I'm not a computer type person so I can't say I understand this. I am using the blog page as my page type. I know there is a template somewhere that has been made up but where do I find that?
Sorry for the beginner type questions, but that's the stage I'm at right now.
