Build a new view for an attribute

Hi,
I'm trying to build a new view for a select attribute.
The select attribute with multiple options available creates a list of checkboxes. But I want a autosuggestion option, kind a like the the same select in the editormode.
I created a models/attribute/types/select/new_view.php, but I don't know which variables are passed through.
Can anybody help me out?
