C5 updates broke Galleria Add-On (or so it seems)

Add-On discussion:http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=213324...
Whatever recent updates occurred in 5.4.2.1+ have broken Galleria. It was bad in 5.4.2.1 but it is completely broken now.
It spins and spins and spins and spins. Never finishes spinning. It never finishes spinning on it's own. You have to close it manually.
Once you manually close it, you can refresh the browser and it will usually work if you waited long enough, but it is very buggy. If you didn't let it spin long enough, the gallery will just be empty. Also, changing templates might delete everything in the gallery.
Any idea what has changed that might have broken this essential Add-On? I use it constantly.

Ok can you answer these questions and perform these tests and post your results?
1. On a new page go into edit mode and select 'add block'
1a. Add the galleria block
1b. Select three images and record the sizes of these images
1c. Submit the form and exit edit mode.
What are the results including the file sizes of the three images and the browser used?
Can you see the main image?
Can you see the thumbnail images? Which ones?
2. Add the same three files to a new file set called "testing"
2a. On a new page go into edit mode and select 'add block'
2b. Add the galleria block.
2c. Select the file set 'testing'
2d. Submit the form and exit edit mode
What are the results of this?
Can you see the main image?
Can you see the thumbnail images? Which ones?
Additional questions.
1. How many C5 installations have you tested this on.
2. Approximately how many image files do you have uploaded in total to the Concrete5 installation?
3. Go to Dashboard->Add Functionality->Galleria Image Gallery->Edit and record the number under "Usage Count"

I think I can successfully rule out all the various questions on 1 - 2 by this one response:
The problems began in 5.4.2.1. Here's how I know:
SITE ONE, SITE TWO, SITE THREE and SITE THREE (VERSION 2) all run on the exact same server at Pair Networks...
SITE ONE:
I have a website running 5.4.1.1 on the same exact server on Pair Networks which runs Galleria perfectly. This is the second version of that site which was initially created with 5.3-something and also ran Galleria perfectly. (I have also used Galleria on many other 5.4.1.1 sites for the past 2 years with no problems.)
All images on all sites everywhere are optimized through Photoshop at 60k-100k @ 71 dpi with a maximum of 5 images per Galleria.
SITE TWO: I first began noticing Galleria issues in September with a site running 5.4.2.1. I rebuilt this site twice because I thought I must have screwed something up. This is when I first became really concerned about speed issues again.
SITE THREE: Same problems but worse with this new site using 5.4.2.2.
SITE THREE (VERSION 2): I recreated this last site using 5.4.1.1. Galleria works beautifully.
A: several, at least 5
A: The problem occured on 5.4.2.1+ sites with the very first images I uploaded via Galleria (approx 3-5)
Older 5.4.1.1 site: 66 (no problems)
Newer 5.4.2.2 site: 27 (problems with the first 3 images I ever uploaded via Galleria)
Same template. Same images.

PS - I discovered in my struggles that Galleria ALSO has issues with Chrome Browser's Add-Block extension. Namely, the Chrome extension breaks it completely. Since this Add-On is not supported much at all or maintained, I think it's time to move on.

When I'm done, I'll gladly submit it to the Marketplace as a free add-on, but it might be illegal for some reason. Otherwise, I'll just attach the block to this thread when it's finished.
In the meantime, if anyone has figured out what the issue is with this thing, the info would be appreciated.
