Can Concrete5 meet my needs?
I am starting a pretty large showcase curating site. There is some specific functionality I will need and am wondering if it can be accomplished with Concrete5.
Basic Viewer
-Create and Account
-Edit and Maintain their Profile for commenting
-Create Collections of Favorite Posts
The Contributor
-Manage their Directory Listing
-Contribute and Submit to the Showcase (to be approved)
-Access their information on Sponsoring
Other Functionality
-Posts will need a very robust tagging and category system, with also the ability to Filter through the tags and categories.
-Ability to show posts similar to the post. Related Items.
-Possibly a way to bring in information and post it from tools like Zootool or Evernote
A good example of similar functionality I need is Site Inspirehttp://siteinspire.com/ (*note* my site is not a web design gallery)
I am wondering how much of this is possible out of the box with Concrete, or if Add Ons are needed if so which add ons and then if not possible at all.
Thanks!

Addons? again some of it but not all.
The good news is that ALL of it CAN be done with C5 nicely. But you will need some developer love for sure.
I'm going to be honest with you, and you may not like what I'm saying:
1 - no CMS will do all this
2 - this is a major project
3 - you need lots of money. lots. (to do it RIGHT)
If you're committed and can spring a budget to make it happen...you can have a great directory/community site.
But it is a lot of work no matter what CMS you choose. And it will cost a lot no matter what CMS you choose.
You may look at SocialEngine ?
