can i give files an attribute

is it possible to give files attributes, just like pages?

What are you trying to achieve that you can't do with tags?
Of course you can add the basic attributes, meta data title, description, tags etc for the file but anythign else depends on the file type doesn't it?

Yes you can, files can have the same kind of attributes as pages (same with users).

See /index.php/dashboard/files/attributes/ in the dashboard for your site.
