Can someone confirm that adding a 'w' to end of pretty page url causes the page to still appear?

I am just curious...

If I have a URL like...

http://somedomain.com/fancy-photo...

Such that a page with a nice photo appears...

If I add a 'w' it still appears...like so...

http://somedomain.com/fancy-photow...

I am wondering if that is just my set up or if that is a Concrete5 thing? Can someone please confirm this for me?

Glad to know it wasn't something I had screwed up (I am working on a static cache solution to make my clients site go faster).
