Cannot Access Non-Concrete Page within Site Structure, Page Not Found

I have a Concrete5 site built but wanted to test out an additional, non-concrete5, social network application under the same domain. This seemed like it should be simple but I am running into trouble accessing the social network app after the install.

As an example let's say that I have the domainhttp://www.demosite.com and Concrete5 is installed there and working well.

I installed the social networking app tohttp://www.demosite.com/social but when attempting to access it Concrete5 gets in the way. It tries looking for a Concrete5 page at that address but since it doesn't find one it gives a Page Not Found error.

Is there an easy way to tell Concrete5 to ignore that path allowing access to the external app directly? I can't seem to figure out how to get there without Concrete5 getting in the way.

When you say "social networking app", what exactly do you mean. Is it just a JavaScript 'widget' that's meant to be embedded into another site or is it a full fledged website in it's own right with it's own index.php or index.html file.

If the 'app' has a landing page such as index.html or index.php then you should be able to get to it with 'www.demosite.com/social/'. If it does not have such a landing file then C5 tries to incorporate it into it's environment and crashes with a 404.

Can you list the contents of your '/social' folder?

It's an install of Oxwall (http://www.oxwall.org) that I wanted to test out since some of my website's users weren't happy with a few aspects of our site as it functions within Concrete. So yes, it's a full fledged site with its own index.php. It's actually located at

www.www.cotsw.org/social/index.php...

Sorry for not being clear about that.

Even if I enter that full url directly to it Concrete seems to take over and keeps showing the 404, Page Not Found, No page could be found at this address error.

I think the .htaccess is re-writing these requests.

Try adding a sub-domain such as 'http://social.cotsw.org'. You should be able to add a sub-domain through your host's Control Panel

That's what I've come up with as well and I'm trying to work through it since I can't figure out why Concrete would be doing this on its own. I already tried adding that social.cotsw.org sub-domain to no avail. I get the same thing. I went through my cpanel and removed 3 unnecessary (old) wildcard redirects as well as a couple old add-on domains and a couple sub-domains. All of which made no difference.

I'm at a loss.
