cant seem to get slideshow block off my page

Hi there, I just started using concrete5 and built a page. I inserted a slideshow block for rotating images on the front page - i'm guessing it was placed in a global area because it shows on all my pages - I deleted it however it still shows on my published page and I want to get rid of it. Funny enough it doesn't show on my page when I go in to edit but it shows on my published page. What do I do???
