Changeing Homepage Template Changes Global Template

Im using C5 v5.3.1.1

Im using a custom template for the homepage. Does anyone know how to Prevent the homepage template from changing the Global Template.

I feel like I have done this before with other the other sites I have built.

Any help would be awesome.

Well now Im adding pages and the their loading with the right Template. The main template is just not Highlighted in the dashboard. Theres definitely something here that doesn't seem right.

Or maybe im just going Crazy

if you're messing around with themes from the dashboard, all you're doing is choosing which ones are available on your site, and if you click "activate" you're applying that theme to ALL pages in your site.

if you're messing around with themes at a page specific level through the editing toolbar > design tab - you're changing stuff for just that page.
