Collecting emails and name for file download

Just wondered if anyone could tell me a way of having a link to a file that only downloads if you fill out a form for name and email.

Preferably I want to use 5.7 ?

Can you have multiple registration forms?

Actually i prepare a addon for that (same as your requirements) for a client...if you want that addon then it will be priceble..

If the file isn't sensitive or valuable, and doesn't need special protections.

What about using the "Redirect to another page after form submission?" feature of the form block. When the form is submitted, redirect to a page that has a File block with your download.

- create a page to hold the file
- use the File block to add the download file
- set the page attributes
Exclude From Nav
Exclude From sitemap.xml
Exclude From Search Index
Exclude From Page List
- create a Disallow rule in your robots.txt
