Composer in 5.5

I'm re-designing my site in c5.5 (and love the new interface - good work!) but I'm new to Composer so I have a noob question...
I'm using Composer to create news stories, press release type pages and it looks pretty straight-forward except for issues with the blog header image...
After creating and publishing a page with Composer I have to manualy edit the page to place an image block in the page in the blog image header section. Perhaps something isn't working quite right with my setup or theme - what should I look for?

Could you be more specific on what you are trying to achieve here ?
I create a page with Composer, add all the content, thumbnail image and header image. When I preview or publish - the header image does not show up on the page. I have to manually add the header image to the blog page.
