Composer item shows as sub menu

I have entered a news item through Composer but it is showing as a submenu rather than people clicking the main menu and navigating to the page. I trashed the file completely from the site but the problem presists. Any ideas?

Try looking at the page type settings.

Dashboard -> Pages & Themes -> Page types

Then click on the 'Composer' button against the page type in question - This will take you to the configuration page for the composer on that page type. There you can specify where the page gets published to - underneath 'Composer Publishing Settings'.
