Composer Permissions Problem - site map shows blank

Hi all - banging my head against a wall here - very frustrated and must be doing something stupid.... maybe someone can help?!

I'm trying to give a user group access to composer to add 'blog' pages under one section of a site only and lock it down so they can edit nothing else.

I followed this great tutorial:http://skybluesofa.com/blog/configuring-concrete5-composer-advanced... which helped me on the way and successfully restricted dashboard to composer only. But when I log in as a user in the restricted group and go to composer, the site map shows blank under publish location so I am not able to add the page.

I have set permissions in the site map to allow 'view' and 'add sub page' to the section I want them to blog to but this hasn't helped. Also set task permissions and file manager permissions in system and settings as per tutorial above.

Not sure what else to try now.... :-/ Any help much appreciated!

If you are letting them add pages of a certain type, you could go into the Composer settings for the Page Type and select the Always Publish Under setting.

That might take care of this problem from a different angle.

Hello,

Thank you! Such a simple solution!

Still not 100% ideal as there are 3 blogs on the site so will have to make 3 page types instead of the 1 generic 'blog' type I had planned. But this is a good work-around.

Is it possible to restrict the page types based on user groups? E.g. if I create blog 1 composer page type for user group 1, how can I make sure they can only publish to their section with their page type?
