Hi All,
We have a very large client and are looking at using C5 for their new platform. I need to ensure C5 is up to the challenge (I have only developed smaller websites using c5 but love the interface) so any previous experience / advice would be much appreciated.
If we go ahead and build the site we are looking at about 3,000 pages. WE have about 40,000 users that we will need to store custom attributes on. There are about 20 different users groups in total each wanting to store unique attributes for each group that can be displayed and updated on the users profile page.
On-top of that we have a fairly complex e-commerce requirement. Users will need to be able to purchase over 2000 standard products also memberships, adoptions, donations etc. I have looked at the e-commerce addon which appears to handle most standard products. Adoptions & memberships will need to allow for user input on product selection. Once purchased we want to store the adoption / membership date as an attribute in the users profile.
I can appreciate the e-commerce package does not do this 'out of the box' & will require custom development, I just need to know that the platform is capable of running & handling this amount of data with ease. The entire site will obviously grow and be larger in the future.
(We are also looking at doing daily exports of data to the clients back office system using CRON, Im assuming the system will accept SQL queries into and out of the DB as required..?)
Appreciate any feedback you can offer.
Many Thanks
Oliver

Hi,
Well in terms of scale you're absolutely fine. Our own site
concrete5.org has well over 300,000 pages and gets about 10k visits a
day. [National 4g provider] is built with concrete5 and gets over 67m page views a month. We're rebuilding all of [Non-profit focused on women's health] to use concrete5 now.
In terms of what the ecommerce add-on will do.. I think if you look at
it as a good development platform to build what you need, but
recognize you're going to be doing some real extensions on top of it,
you will be fine.
Hope that helps!
