Content Block deleting html code

We have a site where we are entering html into a content block from dreamweaver. It all comes in fine and if we publish edits it saves the html. However when we come to edit the block again 75% of the code disappears. Any ideas anyone...?
have you tried entering the html into the html block?
I got the same problem. In the content block I'm adding a <pre> section where i got some apache config file displayed. But the tags are deleted after i edit a page that is already published.
