Content Block Modification

Hey guys. I have a block to donate to the C5 project but I want to know what are the right channels to go through.

It is simply an addition to the Content block which allows you to publish(make visible) content immediately or unpublish it on a page without having to delete it.

I found this to be a major factor in porting more of my projects from Joomla to Concrete5. It works perfectly but it is not the neatest.

All I don't want is to have to pay for it after it has been perfected. Also, I am hoping this feature could be included into the core of C5.

how does this differ/use the versions system already in concrete5? As always I'm worried about providing too much power and complexity to the casual user..

with core concrete5 I can easily make a bunch of changes to a page, including the content block, preview them with out making them public, roll back to previous versions, etc..

am i missing the problem this code solves?

Frz. Again I have to commend you for your speed in responding to these posts. I'll support Concrete5 just for that alone.

About your question though, the current project I am working on (http://www.kairosnetwork.org/) consists of frequently-changing pages. I have run into the case before where someone asks me to pull a certain bit of content from a page because of typographical errors. I could delete it and publish the page as a new version, but if by the time the spelling is corrected, other changes are done to the the page, when I revert to the version which has the spelling errors to update it, I will have to make changes to the other sections of the page as well to make up for the time which has passed.

With the Block I modified, a person can be working on an article without publishing it for an extended time while making other changes to the page. When the person is finished, he/she can decide then to publish (make visible) the content without having to change the version.
