Creating a private login

Anyone know how I could create a private login so that when a member logs in it directs them to a special page of the website. This wont allow them to log in to edit the site, just a enter into a separate/private section. I was thinking about using the Login Block for this, but do not know how to set that Block for the purpose. Any help would be great, thanks.

you can use the existing login page at /login, or the login block, in the dashboard there is an option to redirect them to a certain page, they don't need any privileges except view
