Welcome to C5! The navigation is possibly one of two block types that come default in C5. 1: the autonav block and 2: the pagelist block. Depending on what you are trying to do, they both could be used and styled for your design. To add the autonav or pagelist blocks, simply put a page in edit mode, click on add to area in the page, click add block, then choose autonav or pagelist. See this post for more information:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/general-topics/add_an_auto-n...

You can subordinate the footer navigation links under a certain site (i.e. "footernav") in the sitemap.
Give that "footernav" site the attribute not to appear in the navigation.
For the autonav menu in the footer use the autonav configuration "display pages: beneath a particular page" and choose your footernav.
