Creating Tables with product details
Permalink
Hi,
is it possible to create tables like onhttp://www.truckrental.net/truck_rental.html... without using the WYSIWYG-Editor? Maybe database driven? It should be easy to add rows and columns.
I haven’t found a real table add-on or a way to manage products centralized. Or does the eCommerce add-on fit in this place? I don’t need shopping just a way a customer easily could see all his products and add fields to them.
Or isn’t Concret5 ready for this yet?

Thanks for your answer.
Any plans when 5.4 will be out?
When filling single product pages with product details and photos, am I able to change the layout of all pages in one step or do I have to move the blocks around for every single page? I know about the scrapbook, but when I put pictures to the sidebar and later decide to move them between text and the details table they won't help me, right?

well, we're planning on making it so that you can save layout sections, but in your case you really might be better off making (hardcoding) a new page type called "product".
5.4 should be out in the next couple of weeks.

As far as managing products, if you need to be able to purchase them then go for the eCommerce addon, otherwise you can store product information in pages, tying each product to a page, with a group of product page attributes attached.
