Critical: Replacing JPG with SVG in File Manager breaks entire site

Have just replaced a JPG with an SVG in File Manager, got a Thumbnailing crash from debug and the entire site now returns the crash on any page, destroying it completely.

Tried deleting the uploaded file in the hope that C5 would ignore any non-existent file - just created a different error. The site is now utterly broken and I'll have to try to mess with the DB to rectify it presumably which might create further problems.

There have been a number of issues and fixes for SVG.

I don't know how many of the changes were aimed at preventing the problem vs repairing it. I haven't looked in detail. Patching a site with some of these may help.

Hi John, 8.3.2 update fixed it bythe looks of things, good job Manual Update exists(!), thanks for the speedy comeback to the post.

Hopefully this short thread will now help others who run into issues with slightly older installs!
