Custom 404 (page_not_found) Not Working

Hey guys,
Followed this tutorial to a "T":http://c5cookbook.com/recipes/customize_404_page...
It used to work fine, but since upgrading to 5.6.0.1, I now get my view.php rendering instead of my single_pages/page_not_found.php
I notice I have page_not_found.php in my themes/theme_name/page_not_found.php as well, and it has been added via the Themes > Inspect in Dashboard. Could this be causing a problem?
