Custom Home page

I've built with C5 many times before but not for a long time. My Home page is different to the rest of my pages and I want to set a custom page to be my home page. I can't remember how to do it and all the docs on Google seem old.

How do I set a unique page to be my home page (it needs to be editable)?

I created a new template called home.php and put my home page content into this file.

I then enabled the new template then went to the sitemap and clicked on the home page and added the template to the page
