Customizing "Dark Chocolate"
Firstly: I am a copywriter who has basic html/css experience.
My first problems are that I don't know the terminology used to describe things, so my looking into the help files is not doing me much good right now.
I have a few questions regarding the theme. Basic answers that point to the relevant help file would help a lot too, as these are not always easy to find if you don't know what the terminology is.
(1) I wish to remove the sidebar. In "customize this theme" on the dashboard there is no way to do this.
(2) Add navigation in the header region.
(3) Add my statcounter to the footer region.
There will be more, this should get me going to start with.
Thanks, everybody. Moriarty xxxx

John the Fish,
those links would have been useful had they even approached the questions I posed.

I guess I'm on my own ...
(1) I wish to remove the sidebar. In "customize this theme" on the dashboard there is no way to do this.
If you 'remove' the sidebar, then that would technically be a 'Full Width' page type.... (wouldn't it?) If that is what you want, then go to any page with a sidebar>>hover over 'Edit'>> Select 'Design'>> Select 'Full Width'. Now your page will not have a sidebar.
(2) Add navigation in the header region.
The Navigation menu in concrete5 is called 'AutoNav'. Put the page in 'Edit' mode>> Click on 'Add to Header'>> Select 'Autonav'>> Customise to your liking.
(3) Add my statcounter to the footer region.
Use the 'Intelligent Search' bar.. try searching for 'Analytics' or 'Tracking codes' and add your code in there. Or you can also find this page by going to
(Replace "yourconcrete5website" with your own domain name)
Hope that helps!

Thanks Wagdi
I managed to unravel the sidebar issue after around three hours of head-scratching yesterday.
I asked about the statcounter problem elsewhere and got an answer yesterday as I wasn't getting any traction here. I don't know if it works yet.
I would like to ask: I added the search block to the header region, which worked okay. I deleted it and it is still present. What am I doing wrong?

If you deleted it and it still shows... makes sure you "Approve the changes".
Login as admin, visit the page in question and look for a small pop-up 'bubble' that appears on the top right corner; it will say "This page is pending approval. Approve Version" . Click on 'Approve Version'.
If you have already done that and it still shows, try clearing the cache. Intelligently search for "Clear Cache".
Hope that helps.

I really appreciate the help you have offered. Not.
