Date nav block ignore the exclude from nav attribute

How can I get the date nav block to disregard or ignore the exclude from nav attribute. I want a page to show in the date nave but no the main nav drop down. Thanks

We will be helping to research and look into this as the date nav is seemingly unrelated to the autonav, yet they use the same method to list pages.
