date nav error

c5 5.3.2
i was able to add the block in the functionality area. its says/shows its installed.
then when i go to add it on a page it gives me a big ol' error "an unexpected error occurred" then "mysql error: [1064 you have an error in your sql syntax... blah blah blah
ideas? i've used it before on c5 5.3.3.1 successfully.

seems like '=' is missing before 'exclude_nav'

no. only getting it in 5.3.2
i have date nav on a 5.3.3.1 site and its fine.
interesting about the equal sign. any idea how to resolve that? or more info on why that would occur?
