Date Navigation - How to collapse every month?

Hi!
I want the Date Navigation Block to be closed by default. So not even the current page's month should be expanded by default. What should I modify to achieve this?
Also, is there a way that the whole thing starts closed? Now it's expanded on page load, and it becomes closed once the javascript has loaded.
