Date Navigation: Show years not months

Hey everyone
I need the date navigation to show by year, not by months.
Is there a way of doing this?

I thought it displays years as soon as there are dates from two different years..?

I think the client doesn't want to show the months at all, so I think it would look like:
2014
- News story one
- Another news story
2013
- An older news story
- First news story
etc ...

My message was missing a bit precision. It does show the year, but not in its own hierarchy, it simply adds the year to the month. That only happens if there are posts from different years.
Looking through the code shows me that almost everything in that block is related to months.
Replacing months with years probably requires a new block!

hmmm that's a shame, maybe I'll have to try and revise the block to do this. :(

It's probably easier to start from scratch with a new block and just copy those parts you need from the old block. There's really a lot related to months..
