Defaults not working

Hi
I am creating a site using 5.5.1 which was originally installed as 5.4. I am for now using the Yoghurt theme. I have edited the defaults for the full page type to include a variety of items, but when I set a page to use it I just get the title, header and main. Any ideas anyone? Very frustrating!
