Deleted an add-on through ftp
Permalink
I am working on a test site. I manually deleted an add-on through my ftp control panel outside of Concrete5. I "thought" that this would be a good idea since I could not release it the normal way from my project. That is I could not delete it through my Concrete5 site, after it was released from my project.
Now here is the mess I have:
(1) When I am logged into my site, the icon is still listed under my add-ons but with an empty add-on icon. It does not
have the Social Icons Reloaded 1.5 icon that it had before. It now has a Concrete5 logo.
(2) It is currently associated to my project. I have tried releasing it, put that did not resolve the issue.
(3) If I click on the edit button for Social Icons Reloaded 1.5 on the Added Functionality page nothing happens, it just loops back to the same page.
(4) If I go to my transactions page and look at my licenses, Social Icons Reloaded is listed there. I don't understand my this free add-on is listed on this page with other payed add-ons. The other free add-ons I have added to my site are not listed on the transactions section.
(5) It is not listed under my block types either.
Can anyone help this avid beginner with some helpful advice on how to get rid of this add-on that does not exist on my site but is listed under my site.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me why this particular add-on is listed on my transactions page with all of my other purchased themes and add-ons. This confuses me since all of the transactions listed as payed ones and not free ones.
The only thing I can think is that the other free icons I have were not installed/purchased directly through Concrete5.org. They were added to my project directly from my Concrete5 site.
Any thoughts on this?

I think you have answered that yourself:

Whilst we assume that getting an addon via the dashboard and clicking 'buy' on Concrete5.org are the same, somewhere inside they are not.

You will need to use ftp to replace the package you deleted (you may get away with just the package controller, or you may have to replace the whole package, depends on the code).
Then in the dashboard, uninstall it and tick the dashboard option to remove the code.
Next you can login to your C5.org account and release the licence from the project.
That will hopefully sort it out without leaving any loose ends.
