Different banner in header for multiple language sites?

I managed to get a multilingual site up and running with the Internationalization tool. But, I've got an english banner image hardcoded into the template (Innovation template) and it shows up on all the french pages as well. Is there an html snippet I can put into the main.css so that the template can recognize when it's on a different language page and display a different banner image?
