Disable editing GAreas if not through Dashboard

Is there a way to display the editing of Global Areas on pages that have them. I only want them editable through the Stack Interface ideally. (I know that editing on the page updates the stack).

Ideally avoiding advanced permissions given the upcoming 5.6 release.

If the only blocks you put into your Global Areas come from a Stack (by using the Add Stack option instead of Add Block option) then this should happen by default.

Then you just use basic permissions to hide the Dashboard and the Stacks & Blocks areas from users that you don't want to edit them.

I believe the interface will still look like a user can edit a Global Area, but if they click on it and choose Manage Stack Contents, they would get an Access Denied message.
