do I need to use isEditMode?

I've seen a few themes use the script isEditMode and the open a div with a height of 80px, I understand what is does but it seems a bit redundant, am I missing something?

hi, this is most likely to add space the elements or blocks in the template ... usually to stop them overlapping or being displayed on top of each other.

It can also used to stop scripts or blocks running in edit mode.

Depends on the theme, but this is probably to clear the C5 editing bar if there are absolutely positioned CSS elements in use.
