e-commerce Customer choices in invoice

Hello,
When a product has Customer Choices setup how can I get these to display in the e-mail invoice for the customer and merchant? The choices display OK in the order history.
I'm guessing there is a an array of choices and their values to loop through for each product.
Anyone know what the order object is called?
