eCommerce Reporting

Hi there,
I seem to be having an issue pulling the reports for orders out of eCommerce for a clients site. In the orders window the export button seems to ignore any search criteria and export only the entire database of orders. It also generates a corrupt xcell file that will not open (as of concrete 5.6.3 & corecommerce v 2.8.11).
Does anyone have a solution for being able to report on products/product sets/time frame... pretty simple stuff really and im sure this is a pretty standard requirement of any commerce system?
