eCommerce synchronization with user's personal Quantity In Stock program
Permalink
Hello ladies and gentlemans :0)
Is it possible to connect Concrete5 eCommerce add-on with my customer database (Quantity In Stock) in his store? And if it is where and how to start?
He would like to have his stock synchronized (store = online store) if you know what I mean. If someone buys a product from his physical store, he would like to have this synchronized automatically with his online store, and vice versa.
Any help would be more than welcome.
Thank you in advance!

Hey Jon,
man you are faster than a gun shoot with reply. :0) I am from Europe.
I notice this can be quite a challenge.
Hope you will keep in mind this synchronization while developing module. :0) This would be awesome to offer. I know there is million different stock programs on the market, and store's use it, but I am sure something (for the end user with minimal hand coding) can bi done since C5 is really awesome and supported with kick ass community.
Maybe someone had the same problem, we'll see... and I hope he solve this problem.
Sending nice regards to your end of the world. :0)

Ahh, your profile says you're in the US. I'm from London ( hence why I was up to reply :) )
Yeah, I agree that a proper stock control option is essential for anyone serious about ecommerce. I intend to create an API so that modules can be writen that wil easily plugin to the stock control etc for use with different types of back end systems.

Unfortunately, coreCommerce doesn't track stock like that and I'm not aware of an addon that does this ( I'm sure the guys will correct me pretty quick if I'm wrong on this ;) ). You would definitely need some custom work doing. I do have a much more advanced e-commerce module in development, but I reckon I'm at least 6 month away from completion.
Might find a helpful person who has time to extend it for you though. I've not played with it too much, so not sure what amount of work would actually be required to add this on...
