Edit mode is missing main/header blocks - all content is hidden

Kind of a strange problem. I'm currently using the Simplicity theme and whenever I try modifying the Page Types, there are no blocks to be edited. Deleting blocks will simply remove them permanently without the option to "Add to Main", etc. Because the Page Type template is now lacking a Main block, all the content in these blocks are now invisible. Changing to another theme reveals them again, but I would like to stick to Simplicity. Is there some way to "resurrect" the blocks from the Page Type section?

Is it a problem with the CSS? Where should I begin looking? Help! :C

Have you edited the theme? I would be inclined to check the default.php (or specific page type file) in the theme and make sure the code which creates the "Main" area is there and has the correct syntax.

Have a look in another theme if in doubt what the code should look like.
