Email notifications to certain user groups on page update
Permalink
Hi, I'm curious if theres any way to have email notifications to certains group of users about updates or block additions to one page of a website. I currently have a 'resources' section thats only available to certain users, and I want those users to receive a notification if a new block was added or if the page was updated at least.
Is there any way to do this? I'm on 5.6.0.1

Thanks. Do you have experience with this add-on? seems clunky for 5.6 and I don't see options to tell it what group to send to specifically. Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.
No, you're not looking in the wrong spot. Apparently, I made some modifications to this add-on for my own purposes so basically my version does what you want it to do.
If you can wait until this evening, I will zip up my modified package and attach it here so you can use it also. No official warranty or support of course but you're welcome to it.

Sure sounds great! Thanks!
Any updates about this mhawke?
Sorry for the delay. Right now it's in the form of a 'single page' and I'm trying to bundle it up as a block.
No prob was just curious, thanks for getting back!

Although there might be a way to send out an email every time you 'publish' new content on the 'Resources' page, I would advice against it because the way C5 works, there are lots of times when you publish a new page several times in 5 minutes just to tweak it or correct a typo and you wouldn't want your recipients to get 5 emails announcing new content. With this add-on, once your changes are stable, you can visit your dashboard and send out a notification to everyone in the 'Resources Notification' group of users.
