Error installing any add-on

I continue to receive the message below every time I try to install an add-on. How do I correct the problem?

This looks like you are missing a core file. Your best bet would probably be to download a fresh copy of the version of C5 that you are using and replace the /concrete directory and see if that fixes the problem.
If I do as you suggest, will I lose all of the work I have done? Can I backup this work and upload it later, after replacing C5?
You will only lose changes that have been made inside of the /concrete folder. If possible no changes should ever be made in that folder, otherwise any time you upgrade you will lose all of those changes.
