Exporting an Database

What is the best method to export your database through concrete or PHPMyAdmin and what format and stuff like that because I just can`t connect my website with my database and I really dont know whats the problem because I already checked the site.php and configured it as it should be configured.
Log into phpmyadmin, click on the database you want to back up in the left sidebar, then click the "Export" tab over to the right. Leave all of the options it has set by default, except down at the bottom of the page, check the box next to "Save as File". Don't change anything else -- just click the "Go" button over to the right. A backup file should start downloading.
